TABLE9 Connectivity Map -HL7 Acknowledgment (Continued)
Name Description
eGate Sends AppAcks An indicator ofwhether the HL7 application acknowledgment sentto the
external system isgenerated by the adapter or forwardedfrom the application
server. Select oneof the following options:
true Indicates that theapplication server receives or creates theHL7
application acknowledgment andsends it to the adapter, whichin turn
forwards it tothe external system.
false Indicates that theadapter creates and sends the HL7application
acknowledgment directly tothe external system.
This property isused in the inbound Collaboration code.
ForwardExternal Acks An indicator ofwhether the HL7 application acknowledgment isforwarded to the
application server. Whenan HL7 application acknowledgment is received,it is
sometimes necessary toforward the contents of the HL7application
acknowledgment to theapplication server (as data). This propertyis used for
inbound Collaboration code.
Select true if theadapter forwards HL7 application acknowledgmentsfrom the
external system tothe application server for processing; otherwiseselect false.
Timeout For DelayedAck A number indicating the timeout valuefor delayed ACK in milliseconds. This
property is usedin the inbound Collaboration code.

The following table lists and describes the properties that appear on the Lower Layer Protocol
page of the Properties Editor accessed from the Connectivity Map. These properties dene the
Lower Layer Protocol (LLP) conguration.
TABLE10 Connectivity Map -Lower Layer Protocol
Name Description
LLP Type The lower layerprotocol (LLP) type. Select one ofthe following options:
MLLP (Minimal Lower Layer Protocol)
HLLP (Hybrid Lower Layer Protocol)
MLLP v2.0 (Minimal Lower Layer Protocolv2.0)
For moreinformation on the available envelopetypes, see “Lower Layer
Protocol” on page23
.
Start BlockCharacter The rst envelopemarker character in the HL7 envelope,as a decimal ASCII
number. Enter anumber from 1 to 127. Unlessthere is a conict, the valueshould
