Adapter
The following table lists and describes the properties that appear on the HL7 Recourse Action
page of the Properties Editor accessed from the Connectivity Map. These properties dene the
actions the adapter takes when operations occur outside the congured constraints.

Name Description
Actionon NoResponse The action theadapter takes when no ACK isreceived from the external system in
the allotted time. The amount of time is determined by the Time To Wait For A
Response property (see
Communication Control - TCP/IP). Select oneof the
following options:
■
Exit – The adapter terminatesits connection with the externalsystem and
shuts down.
■
Resend – Theadapter attempts to resend the messageto the external system.
The Resend optionis only allowed when sequence numberingis in eect.
■
Reset – Theadapter closes its connection with theexternal system and goes
through the connectionscenario.
This property isused for outbound Collaboration code.
Actionon Max No
Response
The action theadapter takes when it attempts tosend a message to the external
system the maximumallowed number of times and doesnot receive any response
(HL7 Application Acknowledgement)from the external system. The maximum
number times theadapter sends a message without receivinga response is
determined by the Max No Response property (see
Communication Control -
TCP/IP
). Select oneof the following options:

Exit – The adapter terminatesits connection with the externalsystem and
shuts down.
■
Reset – Theadapter closes its connection with theexternal system and goes
through the connectionscenario.
This property isused for outbound Collaboration code.
Actionon Max Failed
Read Retry
The action theadapter takes after it has reachedthe empty read limit set bythe
Max Empty Read Retry property. Select one of the following recourse options:
■
Exit – The adapter terminatesits connection with the externalsystem and
shuts down.
■
Reset – Theadapter closes its connection with theexternal system and goes
through the connectionscenario.
This property isused for outbound Collaboration code.
