SSI Interface 6 - 3
Simple Serial Interface Default Parameters
Table 6-1 lists the defaults for the SSI host. There are two ways to change the default values:
•
Scan the appropriate bar codes in this guide. These new values replace the standard default values in
memory. To recall the default parameter values, scan the Set Default Parameter on page 4-4.
•
Download data through the device’s serial port using SSI. Hexadecimal parameter numbers are shown in
this chapter below the parameter title, and options are shown in parenthesis beneath the accompanying
bar codes. See the Simple Serial Interface (SSI) Programmer’s Guide for detailed instructions for
changing parameters using this method.
NOTE See Appendix A, Standard Default Parameters for all user preferences, hosts, symbologies,
and miscellaneous default parameters.

NOTE SSI interprets Prefix, Suffix1, and Suffix2 values listed in Table A-1 on page A-1 differently
than other interfaces. SSI does not recognize key categories, only the 3-digit decimal value. The
default value of 7013 is interpreted as CR only.
