Disabling protocols
After your EtherTalk conÞguration is complete, you may want to disable
protocols that you are not using to avoid unnecessary network trafÞc. To
disable protocols, send the appropriate PostScript language Þle to the
printer. The Þles are listed in the following table.
To send the Þles to the printer:
1.
Select the printer in the Chooser.
2.
Locate the appropriate Þle on the Macintosh version of the
printerÕs network utilities diskettes.
3.
The Þles to enable and disable protocols are self-sending.
Double-click on the Þle to send it to the printer.
4.
Reset the printer. (For more information about resetting the
printer, see ÒResetting your printerÓ on page 2-11).
