Functions
The default settings are CODE 39 TYPE,
MEDIUM WIDTH, UNDER# set to ON, and
CHECK DIGIT set to OFF.
To enter the barcode data:
1 Rotate r until BARCODE is displayed, and
then press r (OR hold down d and
press i).
2 Type in the new barcode data or edit the
old data.
To change the barcode parameter settings:
3 Press m.
4 Press j or k until the parameter that you
want to change is displayed.
5 Rotate r (OR press m or g) until the
desired setting is displayed.
6 Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all parameters
are set as you wish.
7 Press r (OR press n).
To add special characters to barcodes
(only with types CODE39, CODABAR,
EAN128 or CODE128):
8 Press j or k until the cursor is below the
character immediately to the right of where
you want to add the special character.
9 Press s.
0 Rotate r (OR press m or g) until the
special character that you want to add is
displayed.
A Press r (OR press n). The selected spe-
cial character is added to the barcode data.

It is recommended that barcodes be printed
with the barcode WIDTH parameter set to at
least SMALL, otherwise barcodes may be diffi-
cult to read.

The CHECK DIGIT parameter is only available
with the CODE 39, I-2/5 and CODABAR types.
NOTE
☞
To change the data or parameters of a barcode
that has already been added to the text, position
the cursor below the right half of the barcode
mark ( ) before rotating r to select BAR-
CODE and pressing r (OR holding down d
and pressing i).

To quit the Barcode function without adding a
barcode, press e at any time (OR hold down
d and press i ).
