Close the top cover.
IMPORTANT
If you cannot close the top cover, check that the toner cartridge is installed properly
in the printer. If you close the top cover forcefully, the printer may be damaged.
Do not leave the top cover open for a long time after installing the toner cartridge.
If the printing remains patchy even after following these steps, you should replace the
toner cartridge with a new cartridge.
Replacing the Toner Cartridge
Use the following procedure to replace the toner cartridge with a new cartridge.
You should clean the printer after you replace the toner cartridge. Refer to
"Cleaning," on p. 5-14 for details on cleaning the printer.
WARNING
Do not put spent toner cartridges into a fire. Any toner remaining in the toner
cartridge may ignite, causing burns or fire.
CAUTION
Be careful to avoid staining your clothes or hands with toner. If you do get any
toner on your clothes or hands, wash it off immediately with cold water. If you
rinse using hot water the toner may become fixed, creating a stain that cannot
be removed.
IMPORTANT
Only use the toner cartridge designed for this printer.
