Special Features
1 When you come to a step that requires you to enter the fax/
telephone number, use the numeric buttons to enter the
number up to where dial tone detection is required.
2 Press D.T. for dial tone detection.
• A small dot indicates where the machine will wait for the dial
tone.
3 Continue entering the rest of the fax/telephone number
with the numeric buttons.
• If you enter the wrong number, press and hold , then start
again from step 1.
4 Continue with the operation you are performing.

Restricting Use of Your Machine
By enabling this feature, you can prevent unauthorised use of your machine to make calls and send faxes.
Enabling Restriction of Your Machine
Follow this procedure to enable restriction of your machine:
1 Press Menu.
2 Use or to select SYSTEM SETTINGS.
3 Press OK three times.
4 Use or to select ON.
5 Press OK twice.
6 Use the numeric buttons to enter a four-digit password.
• This password prevents unauthorised access to the LOCK
PHONE setting that enables or disables restriction of your
machine. If you do not want to enter a password, ignore this
step.
