Troubleshooting
If a Power Cut Occurs
If power is suddenly lost due to an outage or accidental unplugging, a built-in battery retains the user data
settings and the speed dialling settings. However, any sent or received documents stored in memory will be
lost.
During a power cut, functions are limited as follows:
• You cannot send, receive, or copy documents.
• You can only use the machine to receive voice calls if you connected a telephone to your machine.
• You may not be able to make telephone calls depending on your telephone.
When power is restored to the machine, the machine will automatically print a list of documents that were
stored in memory at the time of the power cut.
• The MEMORY CLEAR REPORT is not printed if the paper size setting is set to a size other than A4, letter, or legal.
To change the paper size setting, → Reference Guide.
• If the ink in the Ink Tank is empty or there is no paper in the multi-purpose tray when power is restored, the LCD
displays CMYK INK EMPTY or LOAD PAPER. If this occurs, press Resume to return to standby mode. In these
cases, the MEMORY CLEAR REPORT will not be printed even after the Ink Tank is replaced or paper is loaded.
If You Cannot Solve the Problem
If you have a problem with your machine and you cannot solve it by referring to the information in this chapter
and in the Reference Guide, contact your local authorised Canon dealer or the Canon help line.
Canon’s support personnel are trained in the technical support of Canon’s products and should be able to help
you with your problem. The details on contacting your local authorised Canon dealer or the Canon help line,
→ Reference Guide.
