After taking up the paper, ensure that there
is adequate slack between the roll paper
and the take-up reel core.
About paper basket
❏ When using the Auto Take-up Reel Unit,
rewind the paper basket and push back the
upper hooks fully.
❏ When using the paper basket, you need to
remove the flange from the drive unit and
movable unit and fully slide the movable unit
to the left side of the printer; otherwise, the
printed paper may conflict with the Auto
Take-up Reel Unit and a paper feed error may
occur.
Taking up your prints
When the Auto Take-up Reel Unit is installed,
and the take up reel core is loaded with paper to
take-up in the desired direction, you can use the
unit to take up your prints.

Set the Auto Cut setting to Off.
❏ When you print from the control panel
(such as a status sheet, nozzle check
pattern, or print head alignment
pattern)
Press the button to select Roll Auto
Cut Off .
❏ When you print from the printer driver
In the Roll Paper Option dialog box,
select Off for the Auto Cut setting.

Press the Auto Forward button or the Auto
Backward button on the control panel.

Send a print job to the printer.
The printer starts printing. The Auto
Take-up Reel Unit takes up the roll paper in
the direction you set in step 2.

Warning:
Do not touch the Auto Take-up Reel Unit while
it is operating. Doing so may result in injury.

Caution:
During operation, be sure to stay out of the
sensor detection area. Interrupting the sensor
beam can cause paper to be taken up under
tension and adversely affect printing.
