7.10 Drives "dead" at system boot
SCSI drives are reported as "dead" at system boot. This error message may occur when the server
has a disk array controller.
SCSI cabling incorrect
Ê Make sure the SCSI cable connection and the SCSI channel assignment still correspond to the
original state.
The Disk Array Controller configuration is incorrect
Ê Check and correct the settings for the drives with the disk array controller utility DACCF.

7.11 Added drive defective
An added SCSI drive is reported as defective This error message may occur when the server has a
disk array controller.
Disk Array Controller is not configured for this hard disk drive
The drive was probably installed with the system switched off.
Ê Reconfigure the disk array controller for the hard disk drive. Information is contained in the
documentation on the disk array controller.

Ê Re-install the drive while the system is switched on.
If the hard disk drive continues to be shown as defective, then replace it (see "The SCSI hard disk
subsystem").
