Replacing the Mini PCI card
The modem in your computer is a Mini PCI card. If you need to install a new
Mini PCI card, you must first remove the existing card. Perform this procedure
only if Gateway Technical Support tells you to.
To replace the Mini PCI card:
1 Open the case by following the instructions in “Opening the computer
case” on page 202.
2 Remove the drive cage by following the instructions in “Replacing the hard
drive” on page 210.
Warning Replace the Mini PCI card with only Gateway-approved
cards. Perform this procedure only if Gateway Technical
Support tells you to.
Warning Make sure that you removed all external cables and the
power cord.
