Service Processor 195
7.5.2 System Power Control Menu
The following shows a system power control menu.
7.5.2.1 Enable/Disable Unattended Start Mode
This option may be used to instruct Service Processor to immediately
power-on the server after a power failure, bypassing power-on password
verification. Unattended Start Mode can also be set using SMS Menus. It is
intended to be used on servers that require automatic power-on after a power
failure.
7.5.2.2 Ring Indicate Power-On Menu
Ring Indicate Power-On is an alternate method of dialing in, without
establishing a Service Processor session. If the system is powered off, Ring
Indicate Power-On is enabled, the server is powered on at the predetermined
number of rings. If the server is already on, no action is taken. In either case,
the telephone call is not answered. The caller receives no feedback that the
server powered-on. The Ring Indicator Power-On Menu and defaults are
shown in the following example:
Ring Indicate Power-On may be set to
Enabled or Disabled.
Number of Rings may be set to any number from 1 to 255.
