Setting a Media

Hold the media with the media guide gently.
If the printing result indicates that drying is not enough, use
the media guide to improve adhesion of the media to the
Media Transfer Surface.
Use the media guide with it hit slightly against the sheet
holder.
Make the media pass around the center of the claw of the
media guide.

Prepare for the take-up device.
(1) Set an empty core of the roll media on the take-up
device.
(2) Close the front cover.

Press the key to select "ROLL" .
Detects the media width.
• Width of the printable area that has been calculated from the detected
media width is displayed on the screen.
Depending on the usage conditions and loaded media, the media width may not be detected correctly.
Perform the following if the media width cannot be detected correctly:
Remove the media and then set it again.
Make sure that the external lighting on the media surface does not interfere with the media sensor.
Clean the media sensor by performing the procedure described in "Cleaning the Media Sensor"
( P.4-4), Cleaning.
When [MEDIA REMAIN] of the machine setup is "ON"
( P.3-12), the screen for entering media remaining amount is displayed after detecting the media
width.( P.2-12)
Make sure that the width of the printable
area that has been detected is correct. The
printable width will be displayed shorter
than the actual media width by the left and
right margins (default: 30mm=left
15mm+right 15mm).
