First,though,you shouldmakesomepreparations.Youmay alreadyhave
decidedon the printer’snew location.Whetheryouhaveor havenot, run
throughthis checklistof nquirements:
Environmentalcontrol
The printer and toner cartridge should never be exposed to strong
sunshineorotherdirectheatsources.Itshouldalsobelocatedawayfmm
air conditioningducts, dust and fumes.Excessivemoistureshouldbe
avoided,such as humidityin excessof 80%or less than 20%. If it is
comfortablefor you,thenit willbe comfortablefor yourprinter.
A large,strongtableor stand
Theprinterweighsapprox.22.51bs(lOkg)andmustbe firmlysupported.
Also, theprinterwill need more roomthan it takes up in the shipping
cation,becausethepapertraywillextendforwardfmmthefront;soplan
for a spaceat least2 x 3.2 ft (0.6m?.
A three-prongedoutlet
Theoutletshouldbe no more than
8feet (2.5m)from the printer (the
lengthof the powercord),preferablyoneshieldedfrom~wer fluctua-

with;however,theprintercanusethickerpaper,aswellasspecialmedia,
suchas envelopesand transparentsheets.
