First, addthefollowingcommandstotheAUTOEXEC.BATfile,depending
on parallelor serialinterfaceused.
Parallel:If yourprinteris connectedto thecomputer’sparallelportLPT1,
addthe followingcommandto the AUTOEXEC.BATfile:
MODELPT1:,,P
Serial:If yourprinterisconnectedtothecomputer’sserialportCOM1,add
the followingcommandto theAUTOEXEC.BATfile:
MODECOM1:9600,N8,1,P
MODELPT1:=COM1

IftheLotus1-2-3hasnotbeeninstalled,youmustinstallitbeforeprocee-
ding.Atthe DOSprompt,typeLOTUSandpress [RETURN].Thiscauses
thecomputerto displaythe 1-2-3AccessSystem.
Movethe cursorto “Install”,thenpms [RETURN]to runthe INSTALL
program.Lotusmay askyouto inserttheUTILITYdisk.This willdisplay
the MAINMENU. You can select yourprinterfollowingthe procedure
below.
1)Select “Change Selected Equipment”and press [RETURN], which
displaysthe SelectedEquipmentscreen.
2) Select“TestPrinter(s)”andpress [RETURN],whichdisplaystheText
Printer(s)screen.
3) Select“HP” and press [RETURN]. This displaysthe Text Printer(s)
screen.
4) Select“2686LaserJetor LaserJet+”andpress[RETURN].
The printertypefor textshas been selected.To selecttheprintertypefor
graphics,gobackto the SelectedEquipmentscreen.
