Appendix A: FAQ
1. How do I configure the router for ADSL/cable users to access the Internet?
1) Configure the ADSL/cable modem to RFC1483 bridge model.
2) Connect the Ethernet cable from your ADSL/cable modem to the Internet port on the
router, and plug the telephone cord into the Line port of the ADSL/cable modem.
3) Log in to the router and choose menu “Network WAN”. On the WAN page, select
“PPPoE/Russia PPPoE” for WAN connection type. Type the user name and password
provided by your ISP, confirm the password, and click Connect.

4) If your ADSL/cable lease is in “pay-according-time” mode, select “Connect on Demand”
or “Connect Manually” for Internet connection mode, and set an appropriate Max Idle
Time to avoid wasting paid time. Otherwise, you can select “Connect Automatically” for
Internet connection mode.

) Note:
Sometimes the connection cannot be disconnected although you specify a Max Idle Time.
This is because some applications are visiting the Internet continually in the background.
2. How do I configure the router for Ethernet users to access the Internet?
1) Log in to the router and choose menu “Network WAN”. On the WAN page, select
“Dynamic IP” for WAN connection type, and click Save.
