Figure 8-2 illustrates a Switch that has three VLANs defined as follows:
■ Finance
■ Protocol-sensitive VLAN using the IP protocol
■ Ports 1 and 3 have been assigned
■ IP address 192.207.35.1
■ Personnel
■ Protocol-sensitive VLAN using the IP protocol
■ Ports 2 and 4 have been assigned
■ IP address 192.207.36.1
■ MyCompany
■ Port-based VLAN
■ All ports have been assigned
The stations connected to ports 1 through 4 generate a combination of
IP traffic and NetBIOS traffic. The IP traffic is filtered by the
protocol-sensitive VLANs. All other traffic is directed to the VLAN
MyCompany.
unconfig irdp Resets all router advertisement settings to the default values.
disable icmp redirects {vlan <name> |
all}
Disables the generation of ICMP redirects on one or more
VLANs.
disable icmp unreachables Disables the generation of ICMP unreachable messages on
one or more VLANs.
disable icmp useredirects Disables the changing of routing table information when an
ICMP redirect message is received.
disable irdp {vlan <name> | all} Disables the generation of router advertisement messages
on one or more VLANs.
