Verifying the IP
Unicast Routing
Configuration
Use the show iproute command to display the current configuration
of IP unicast routing for the Switch, and for each VLAN. The
show
iproute
command displays the currently configured routes, including
how each route was learned.
Additional verification commands include:
■ show iparp
Displays the IP ARP table of the switch.
■ show ipfdb
Displays the hosts that have been transmitting or have received
packets, as well as the port and VLAN for each host.
Configuring
DHCP/BOOTP Relay
Once IP unicast routing is configured, you can configure the
Switch 9000 to forward HP or BOOTP requests coming from clients on
subnets being serviced by the Switch 9000 and going to hosts on
different subnets. This feature can be used in various applications,
including DHCP services between Windows NT servers and clients
running Windows 95. To configure the relay function, do the following:
1 Configure VLANs and IP unicast routing.
2 Enable the DHCP or BOOTP relay function, using the following
command:
enable bootprelay
3 Configure the addresses to which DHCP or BOOTP requests should be
directed, using the following command:
config bootprelay add <ipaddress>
4 To delete an entry, use the following command:
config bootprelay delete {<ipaddress> | all}
Verifying the
DHCP/BOOTP Relay
Configuration
To verify the DHCP/BOOTP relay configuration, use the following
command:
show ipconfig
This command displays the configuration of the BOOTP relay service,
and the addresses that are currently configured.
