PlatinumSecure Options
C lic k on the PlatinumSecure Options button to ope n the Sma rtC a rd
Options window. It provides great flexibility to meet the various
privacy protection needs of many different users.
• Disable Sma rtC a rd Authentic a tion
When Disable PlatinumPAS is se le c te d, the Pla tinum PAS P re b oo t
Authentication System will be disabled.
When Disable PlatinumSecure is se lec ted , the Pla tinumSe c ure
Windows Logon Authentic a tion with the Sma rtC a rd will be
disabled, which means that the protection of your PC as well as
other options under System Lock Option and Password Option
will be disabled, too. The SmartCard password is required for this
selec tion.
• System Loc k Option
When Lock system when the SmartCard is not in use
(d efa ult) is se lec te d, if the Sma rtC a rd is re move d, the
Pla tinumSe c ure sc reensa ver c omes up a nd a c c ess to the system is
loc ked . Whe n Never lock the system after bootup is se lec ted ,
there is no protection for the PC after boot up, and Password
Option is disabled.
• Password Option
When Always enter password when the SmartCard is in use
(default) is selected, the password is required whenever you need
to regain access to the system while the SmartCard is inserted.
When Auto authenticate when SmartCard is in use is
se lec te d, no p a ssword is re quire d. All you ne ed to d o is inse rt the
SmartC ard.
