No Drum Unit The drum unit is not installed
correctly.
Reinstall the drum unit. (See Replacing the drum unit
on page 128.)
No HUB Support A USB hub device is connected to
the USB direct interface.
Disconnect the USB hub device from the USB direct
interface.
No Paper
(The second line of the
LCD)
Load (size) paper
in (tray).
The machine is out of paper or
paper is not correctly loaded in the
specified paper tray.
Load paper in the indicated paper tray.
Make sure the paper guides are set to the correct
size.
No Permission Printing color documents is
restricted.
Contact your administrator to check your Secure
Function Lock settings.
No Toner The toner cartridge for the color
indicated on the second line of LCD
is not installed correctly.
Remove the drum unit, remove the toner cartridge for
the color indicated on the second line of LCD from the
drum unit, and put the toner cartridge back into the
drum unit. Reinstall the drum unit in the machine. If
the problem continues, replace the toner cartridge
(see Replacing the toner cartridges on page 123).
No Tray The paper tray that is indicated on
the second line of the LCD is not
installed or not installed correctly.
Reinstall the paper tray that is indicated on the
second line of the LCD.
No Waste Toner The waste toner box is not installed
correctly.
Reinstall the Waste Toner Box (see the steps
in Replacing the waste toner box on page 141).
Not Available The requested function is not
permitted to all User IDs by Secure
Function Lock.
Contact your administrator to check your Secure
Function Lock settings.
Out of Memory The machine’s memory is full. Reduce the complexity of your document or reduce
the print resolution.
Add more memory. (see Installing extra memory
on page 116.)
Print Data Full The machine’s memory is full. Press Cancel and delete the previously stored
secure print jobs.
Add more memory. (see Installing extra memory
on page 116.)
Print Unable ## The machine has a mechanical
problem.
Press and hold down to turn the machine off.
Wait a few seconds, then turn it on again.
If the problem continues, call Brother Customer
Service.
