Understanding the System Status Lights
The system status lights are shown in the following illustration,
and the function of each light is explained.

The system lights on the
keyboard provide a quick
status of your computer and
keyboard settings.
No. Description
1 E-mail indicates when you have e-mail waiting to be read.
Note: This light works only with POP3 Internet services.
The light does not work with proprietary Internet services
such as AOL.
2 Stand By indicates the computer is in Stand By mode.
3 Num Lock indicates that you can use the numeric key pad to
type numbers.
4 Caps Lock indicates all text typed will appear as capital letters.
5 Scroll Lock indicates when the scroll-lock function is engaged,
enabling you to scroll through a document without moving the
cursor.
