6.1 Equipping rules
The 6 slots for each CPU for the main memory are divided into two banks (bank
1 and bank 2) with 3 channels each (A, B and C).

Independent Channel Mode
– Allows all channels to be equipped in any order.
– Works with DIMMs of different clock frequencies and sets them at the lowest
frequency.
– Works with both UDIMM memory modules and RDIMM memory modules.
Mirrored Channel Mode
– Requires identical modules on channels A & B (1st CPU) and on C & D (2nd
CPU).
– Half of the capacity is used for mirroring – the available memory for applica-
tions amounts to just half of the installed memory.
– Channel C (1st CPU) or channel F (2nd CPU) are not available in this mode.
– RDIMM memory modules are supported.
