Error Corrective Action
The displayed
statuses are as
follows:
Unknown Status: The status of the path is unknown.
Reaction: The status of the path cannot be identified. Please call
the Hitachi Data Systems Support Center.
Blockade Status: The external port is blocked.
Reaction: The external port is blocked because of the microprogram
replacement or package replacement or some other factor. Check
the status of the local storage system. If you cannot restore the
path, call the Hitachi Data Systems Support Center.
External
device
setting
changed
Status: The setting of the external storage system has been
changed. For example, the path definition was deleted, or the
external storage system itself was replaced by another device.
Reaction: The port of the external storage system is recognized.
Refer to the documents for your external storage system, and check
if the operation that changes the setting information about the
mapped device has not been performed.
LDEV size
reduced
Status: The setting of the volume capacity of the external storage
system has been changed (the volume capacity was reduced).
Reaction: Check the volume capacity of the volume of the external
storage system. Execute the Delete Volume operation, and then
retry the Add Volume operation.
Not ready
Status: The reply of the external storage system was NOTREADY.
The drive of the external storage system is spinning up, or the
device of the external storage system is being formatted.
Reaction: The path cannot be used to access the external storage
system. Check the status of the external storage system. If you
cannot restore the path, call the Hitachi Data Systems Support
Center.
Illegal
request
Status: The reply of the external storage system was
ILLEGALREQUEST. The command cannot be executed to the device
of the external storage system. The data protection may be set on
the device of the external storage system.
Reaction: The port of the external storage system is recognized.
Check the setting of the external storage system. If you cannot
restore the path, call the Hitachi Data Systems Support Center.
Command
aborted
Status: The reply of the external storage system was
ABORTEDCOMMAND. An error may have occurred on the external
storage system side.
Reaction: The port of the external storage system is recognized.
Check the setting of the external storage system and the condition of
the connection (e.g., cables, switches) to the external storage
system. If you cannot restore the path, call the Hitachi Data Systems
Support Center.
Busy Status: The external storage system is in the BUSY status.
Reaction: The port of the external storage system is recognized.
Check the setting of the external storage system and the load on the
external storage system (e.g., check if the configuration gives too
much load on the external storage system or not). If you cannot
restore the path, call the Hitachi Data Systems Support Center.
LDEV
reserved
Status: The external storage system is in the Reserve status. You
are not allowed to access the device of the external storage system
from the local storage system
Reaction: Remove the Reserve status on the device of the external
storage system.
