1.3.2 DB2 version considerations
In addition to considering compatibility with existing DB2 installation, you should
consider the end of support date of any DB2 version that you are planning to
install, as well as what features you require.
For information regarding the end of life cycle (end of support) date of all IBM
software products, refer to:
http://www.ibm.com/software/data/support/lifecycle/
Also consider the features associated with each version. Each new version of
DB2 brings significant enhancements and feature additions. For example, if you
want native XML storage and XML services, consider DB2 V9.x for deployment.
