6. Install the new system fan by aligning the new rubber mounts with the corresponding holes in the
chassis and push the rubber mounts through the holes.
7. Pull on the tips of the rubber mounts until the new system fan is secured in place.

8. Connect the new system fan cable to the system fan connector on the system board. See “Locating
parts on the system board” on page 73.

Replacing the heat sink and fan assembly
CAUTION:
The heat sink and fan assembly might be very hot. Turn off the computer and wait three to ve
minutes to let the computer cool before removing the computer cover.
