12. Connect one end of the signal cable to the bottom of the new solid-state drive and the other end to
an available SATA connector on the system board. See “Locating parts on the system board” on
page 80. Then, locate an available four-wire power connector and connect it to the bottom of the
new solid-state drive.

Replacing the system fan
Attention:

This section provides instructions on how to replace the system fan.
To replace the system fan, do the following:
1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the computer. Then, disconnect
all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer.
2. Remove the computer cover. See “Removing the computer cover” on page 126.
3. Remove the front bezel. See “Removing and reinstalling the front bezel” on page 127.
4. Pivot the drive bay assembly upward to access the system fan. See “Accessing the system board
components and drives” on page 128.
5. Remove the hard disk drive for easier access to the system fan. See “Replacing the hard disk drive” on
page 132.
