1. Installation
Dual line option (FO-67DL)
The dual line option allows your fax machine to be connected to a
second telephone line. If you wish to use this option, consult your
dealer to have the dual line kit installed. After your dealer installs the
dual line kit, connect your second phone line to the
TEL. LINE 2
jack.

Manual fax transmission (Normal Dialing using the
SPEAKER
key or an extension phone connected to the fax machine) and
manual fax reception are only possible on Line 1. An extension
phone connected to the fax machine uses Line 1.

The fax machine will only ring when a call is received on Line 1.
When a call is received on Line 2, the
LINE2 IN USE
indicator
will blink.
Selecting a line when the dual-line option has been installed
If you wish to use a particular line to fax a document, press the
LINE
key one or more times before dialing until the desired line appears in
the display. LINE-1 SELECTED will appear first, followed by LINE-
2 SELECTED and then LINE AUTO SELECTED. If you select LINE
AUTO SELECTED or do not make a selection with the
LINE
key, the
first available line will be used.

If you wish to restrict either of the lines to transmission only or
reception only, use Option Setting 31 (Dial Selection). See Chapter
6,
