3. Receiving Documents
The fax machine has two modes for receiving calls:
AUTO
mode:
Select this mode when you only want to receive faxes on the line
connected to the fax machine. The fax machine will answer all calls
automatically and receive incoming faxes.
MANUAL
mode:
Select this mode when you have an extension phone connected to the
same line as the fax machine and you want to receive both faxes and
voice calls.
All calls, including faxes, must be answered by picking
up the extension phone
.
Note:
If the dual line option has been installed, the reception mode
can only be selected for Line 1. The reception mode of Line 2 is fixed
at AUTO. Note that when a call is received on Line 2, the LINE2 IN
USE indicator will blink; however, the fax machine will not ring.
Note:
If the dual line option has been installed and a line has been
restricted to transmission with Option Setting 31 (see Chapter 6),
reception will not be possible on that line.
