Components of Your Device
Your device consists of these main components:
● Wi-Fi access point
The Wi-Fi access point connects your computers and o
ther Wi-Fi-enabled devices to your
device.
● 3G modem
The 3G modem connects your device to the Internet via the 3G (CDMA
1X/EVDO) network
(more widely available, compared to 4G).
● 4G modem
The 4G modem connects your device to the Internet via the 4G (
WiMAX) network (newer
technology and faster speeds, compared to 3G).
● Ro
uting hardware
The routing hardware handles traffic between the 3G/4G modems, the Wi-Fi access point, and
the Wi-Fi
network.
