Enabling SNMP on the Target Appliance
1. Log in to the SonicWALL NSA 2400.
2. Navigate to System > Administration and select the
Enable SNMP checkbox.
SNMP is now configured.
Note: If a SonicWALL appliance is already under SonicWALL
GMS management, you can select the Enable SNMP
checkbox and not provide the host information in the
SNMP Settings page displayed by clicking Configure.
3. To configure custom SNMP settings, click the Configure
button next to Enable SNMP. Custom settings are optional.
To use the default settings, do not click Configure.
4. Type the host name of the SonicWALL security appliance
in the System Name field
5. Type the network administrator’s name in the System
Contact field.
6. Type an email address, telephone number, or pager
number in the System Location field.
7. Type a name for a group or community of administrators
who can view SNMP data in the Get Community Name
field.
8. Click OK. It is not necessary to fill in the Host fields when
SonicWALL GMS management is enabled.
