ON-LINE SCREEN 4 also has four counters recording the modem's actions and reac-
tions.
FRN (Fast Rate Negotitation) Granted (FG)
The count of the granting of the remote modem's change rate (FRN) requests. Each
request is an indicator of a changed receiving condition.
FRN Request (FR)
The count of the local modem's requests to change the rate.
Block Retransmitted (BR)
The count of the blocks retransmitted (bad receiving on the remote modem).
FCS (Frame Check Sum) Errors (FE)
The count of the FCS errors received (block errors) (bad receiving on the local mo-
dem).
Line Condition Report (AT#E1)
For non-LCD models, with the modem on-line, but in the command state, use the
AT#E1 command to have the modem continuously report the line conditions SN,
RX, RG, RT, FG and FR. This provides a convenient way of monitoring the line.
Link Status Report (ATI2)
During a connection, the modem will record information about link operations. You
can use the AT command ATI2 to see the summary, as shown in the sample below:
