Configuring Alarm Thresholds
Alarm thresholds determine the level at which an alarm condition is reached.
There are two types of HDSL alarm thresholds:
Link ES threshold determines the number of errored seconds that must
occur to trigger an alarm. This threshold can be set to 17 or 170 errored
seconds. You can also disable this alarm.
Margin threshold determines the margin, in dB, that triggers an alarm.
This threshold can be set anywhere between 1 dB and 25 dB, in 1 dB
increments. You can also disable this alarm.
To set the alarm thresholds:
1 From the CURRENT ALARMS display, press Next. HDSL LINK
ALARMS displays.
2 Press Enter. The current HDSL alarm status displays.
3 Press Next. HDSL ES THRESHLD displays.
4 Press Enter.
5 Press Next to scroll through the settings for the ES threshold until the
desired setting displays.
6 Press the Enter button to select the desired setting. HDSL ES
THRESHLD displays.
7 Press Next. MARGIN THRESHLD displays.
8 Press Enter.
9 Press Next to scroll through the settings for the margin threshold until the
desired setting displays.
10 Press Enter to select the desired setting. MARGIN THRESHLD displays.
