the paper. The print head nozzles must be free from paper particles and dust in
order to maintain a high level of print quality.
The printer has an automatic cleaning function that clears away paper particles
and dust when you turn on the printer after
it
has been turned off for a certain
period of time.
You need to activate the print head cleaning procedure whenever you replace the
print head unit or individual ink tanks, or when your print quality is poor. There
are three types of print head cleaning:
A new print head unit needs to be cleaned to ensure the best possible print
quality. Also, you must perform a thorough cleaning if you insert the ink
tanks in the wrong slots or if quick cleaning does not solve your print
quality problems. This procedure takes about three minutes.
Quick cleaning of all nozzles
Use this method to improve print quality. This cleaning takes about two
minutes.
Custom cleaning of selective print head nozzles
Use this method to clean the print head nozzles of a new ink tank or if one
color is not printing as clearly as you think it should. This cleaning takes
about one minute.
