Canon BJC-620 Printer User Manual

With proper use, the print head unit should last the life of the printer. Eventually,
however, as the print head unit wears out, the print quality will deteriorate and you
will see irregular or missing dots on printouts. If this occurs and print quality does not
improve with repeated print head cleanings, contact the Canon Computer Systems
Customer Care Center to find out your service options (see page
1-3).
The most important thing you can do to extend the life of your BJC-620 and to
ensure optimum print quality is to take care of the print head unit. To avoid damaging
the print head unit, follow these precautions:
Do not touch the print head nozzles on the print head unit or the sharp edges
around them.
Do not place the print head unit on a table with the print head nozzles facing
down. Make sure the filters are facing up if you must set the print head unit
down.
Install the print head unit immediately after you open it.
Replace an empty ink tank as soon as possible. Do not attempt to print a color
for which the ink tank is empty.
Do not use heavier-weight print media than meet the specifications for this
printer. (See Appendix A, Specifications, for details.) Printing with a paper that
is thick enough to come in contact with the print head nozzles may damage the
print head unit.
