2 Open the system. See "Opening the System" on page 117.
3 Remove the system-board assemblies. See "Removing a System-Board
Assembly" on page 87.
4 Remove the cooling fans. See "Removing a Cooling Fan" on page 118.
5 Remove the screws that secure the cooling-fan brackets to the chassis.
See Figure 3-26.
6 Lift the cooling-fan brackets out of the chassis. See Figure 3-26.

7 Remove the screws that secure the upper middle plane to the middle
plane holder. Figure 3-27.
8 Disconnect all the cables from the upper middle plane.
Note the routing of the cable underneath the tabs on the chassis as you
remove them from the system. You must route these cables properly
when you replace them to prevent the cables from being pinched or
crimped.
9 Lift the upper middle plane out. See Figure 3-27.
