Join/Prune
Interval <60 >
This field allows an entry of between
0 and 18724 seconds. This interval
also determines the time interval the
router uses to automatically remove
prune information from a branch of a
multicast delivery tree and begin to
flood multicast messages to all
branches of that delivery tree. These
two actions are equivalent. The
default is 60 seconds.
State <Disabled>
This field can be toggled between
Enabled and Disabled using the pull-
down menu, and is used to enable or
disable PIM-DM for the IP interface.
The default is Disabled.
Static Router Port Settings
A static router port is a port that has a multicast router
attached to it. Generally, this router would have a connection
to a WAN or to the Internet. Establishing a router port will
allow multicast packets coming from the router to be
propagated through the network, as well as allowing multicast
messages (IGMP) coming from the network to be propagated to
the router.
A router port has the following behavior:
• All IGMP Report packets will be forwarded to the router
port.
• IGMP queries (from the router port) will be flooded to all
ports.
