Configuring Turbo Ring
The following figures indicate which Turbo Ring Protocol parameters can be configured. A more
detailed explanation of each parameter is given below the figure.
Now Active:
This field shows which communication protocol is on used: Turbo Ring, RSTP, or neither.
Master/Slave:
This field appears only when selected to operate in Turbo Ring mode. It indicates if this EDS is or
is not the Master of the Turbo Ring.
NOTE
The user does not need to set the master to use Turbo Ring, only to assign which segment
serves as the backup path.
The master will be determined automatically if the user does not set a dedicated master for the
Turbo Ring.
Redundant Port Status
This field indicates the current status of redundant ports. The state is “Forwarding” for normal
transmission, “Blocked” to stop transmission if this port is the backup path, and “Link down” for
non-connection.
Ring Coupling
Indicates if the Ring Coupling function is “Enabled” or “Disabled.”
Coupling Port Status
This field indicates the current status of coupling ports. The state is “Forwarding” for normal
transmission, “Blocked” to stop transmission if this port is the backup path, and “Link down” for
non-connection.
At the bottom of the page, the user can configure this function’s “Settings.” For Turbo Ring, the
user can configure:
