Operation and maintenance
This section describes how to use your Scorpion 240
autoloader and DDS-4 cartridges. It also explains how to
interpret the LEDs and the display on the front of the drive,
which are shown in Figure 8.

Starting the autoloader
Turn on all SCSI devices attached to your computer before
you turn on the computer. When the autoloader is first started,
the following events should occur:
1. The Clean, Media, and Drive LEDs light up for two
seconds, then start flashing.
2. The LCD display shows the current SCSI ID, followed by
the message, “WAITING SELFTEST.”
3. If a magazine is loaded, the LCD display shows the
message “SCAN X” while the drive determines which
slots in the magazine contain cartridges.
