1. Gather the required hardware and
software
Hardware Required
• ApersonalcomputerwithafunctioningserialportorUSB
portandaUSBtoserialconverterconfiguredtoworkwith
yourcomputer.
• AstraightthroughRS232cable(DB9M‐DB9F).
• AsuitablepowersupplyandantennafortheRaven.
Withoutsuitablesignalstrengththe modemwillnot
function.Betterthanatleast‐100dBMisrequired.
Software Required
• ModemDoctor‐Utilitytoconductdiagnosticsandto
bringyourmodemtoabase‐levelofconfiguration.You
