What is a HotSync
®
operation?
HotSync
®
is a technology which automatically synchronizes CLIÉ handheld application data with the Palm™
Desktop for CLIÉ software data on the computer.
You can reduce the time required for completing a HotSync
®
by limiting the transfer to only the necessary data.
Performing a local HotSync
®
This section describes how to perform a HotSync
®
operation using the cradle (local HotSync
®
), assuming that
you have done all the necessary preparations and installations for your CLIÉ handheld and your computer.
For the required preparations and software installation, and for information on performing a HotSync
®
for
the first HotSync
®
operation, please see the Read This First manual.
To perform a local HotSync
®
operation, proceed as follows:
1 Place your CLIÉ handheld in the cradle.
2 Press the HotSync
®
button on the front panel of the cradle.
The HotSync
®
operation starts.
If
