Scanning with the WIA
Interface
SCANNING WITH THE WIA INTERFACE
Microsoft Windows includes its own set of options—known as
Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)—for acquiring images from
scanners, digital cameras, and other digital devices.
Many Windows XP applications have commands to access WIA,
including PaperPort. To access WIA from PaperPort choose WIA:
Visioneer Strobe XP 450 from the scanner drop-down list. See page
89.
This section shows how to use Microsoft Paint to scan using the WIA
interface.
To scan using WIA from Microsoft Paint:
1. On the Windows taskbar, click Start, point to All Programs, point
to Accessories, and then click Paint.
The Paint window opens.
Note: Scanning with the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)
interface is only available if yur computer is running Windows XP.
