CONFIGURING THE ONETOUCH BUTTONS 95
Scanning from PaperPort
Instead of using the scanner buttons or the OneTouch Button Panel to
scan, you can scan from PaperPort.
You scan from PaperPort using the Basic Interface, Advanced Interface,
or the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA). See “Scanning with the
Windows Image Acquisition” on page 119 to scan using the Windows
Image Acquisition.
The Basic Interface and Advanced Interface use the TWAIN standard
for scanning. TWAIN is a widely recognized method that computers
use to receive images from scanners, digital cameras, and other digital
devices. Many other graphics and imaging applications also comply
with the TWAIN standard, so you can use your scanner with those
applications too.
Note: When scanning, the Basic Interface or Advanced Interface
opens right away (without opening PaperPort first) if the button you’re
using to scan is set to Configure Before Scan, and the selected option
is TWAIN.
