QL Series User Guide
WLAN Overview
All QL Series printers can be equipped with a radio in the
standard PCMCIA footprint using the industry standard 802.11
or 802.11b protocol. QL Series printers will have the FCC I.D.
number of the radio on the product label. QL Plus Series print-
ers will have the FCC ID number on the serial number label on
the back of the unit.
These printers allow wireless communication as a node
within a local area network, (LAN) and its wireless capabilities
allow communications from any point within the LAN’s perim-
eter. Methods of establishing communications to the printer
will vary with each LAN application.
QL 220 and QL 220 Plus Wireless Network Printers with the
CF module can be identified by the text “Wireless Network
Printer” and FCC ID: I28MD-QL4137 either on the front of the
unit (QL 220) or on the label on the back of the unit
(QL 220 Plus).
QL 320 and QL 420 printers with the PCMCIA module can be
identified by the text “Wireless Network Printer” and FCC ID
number I28-QL420352 either on the front of the unit
(on QL 320 and QL 420) or on the label on the back of the unit
(on QL 320 Plus and QL 420 Plus).
QL 320 and QL 420 printers with the Frequency Hopping
PCMCIA module can be identified by the text “Wireless Net-
work Printer” and FCC ID: I28MD-QL3201 on the front of the
unit.
Methods of establishing communications to QL Series print-
ers will vary with each LAN application. General information
on establishing WLAN communications can be found in either
the ”CPCL Programmers Manual” or the “Quick Start Guide
for Mobile Wireless Printers” both available on-line at:
