CAUTION
Jumpers are set correctly at the factory for your
configuration. Only change (or check) the
appropriate jumper setting. Otherwise, keep the
jumpers at their factory settings.
1.
Power off and unplug the system and any external
options.

CAUTION
To prevent damage to the system board, do not
clear CMOS while power is on.
2.
Remove the left side cover (see “Removing the Left Side
Cover” in Chapter 4).
3.
Locate jumper block JBAT1 on the system board (see the
figure “Locating system board jumpers” earlier in this
chapter).
4.
Move the jumper from pins 1 and 2 to pins 2 and 3 to
clear your password and reset the CMOS settings.
5.
Move the jumper back to pins 1 and 2.
6.
Replace the left side cover, plug in the power cord, and
power up the system.
7.
Run the BIOS Setup utility to check the configuration of
your system.
