Return Codes
•0 - The vsarchivevary command is successfully
processed.
• -1 - An error is detected by either the CLI software or the
API software.
• >0 - An error is detected by VolServ. The returned exit code
corresponds to the error code given by VolServ.
Examples
Step 1. Successful archive vary. Requests VolServ to vary
the shelf1 archive to the diagnostic state.
Step 2. Output returned:
Step 1. Unsuccessful archive vary. Requests VolServ to vary
the BadArchiveName archive to the on-line
state.

Notes
VolServ rejects all incoming requests that could physically
command an offline or diagnostic library (for example: Mount,
Dismount, and Move).
