Installing the hardware

4.1 Installation procedure
The following installation steps are described in detail in the following sections
of this chapter:
● Unpacking the system unit (see 4.2 on page 38).
● Installing the system unit in the rack (see 4.4 on page 40 and configuration
diagram on the order lists) or setting up the floorstand model (see section
"Setting up the floorstand model" on page 39).
● Connecting the cables of the system unit (see 4.5 on page 49). Please also
read the section "Instructions for connecting/disconnecting cables" on
page 54.
● Connecting the system unit to the mains (see 4.6 on page 51).
4.2 Unpacking the system unit
V CAUTION!
Follow the safety instructions in chapter "Important notes" on page 25.
The server must always be lifted or carried by at least two people.
(For the Japanese market, please refer to " 安全上のご注意 ".)
Do not unpack the server until it is at its installation location.
Ê Transport the system unit to the place where you want to set it up.
Ê Unpack all individual parts.
Keep the original packaging in case you want to transport the system unit
again (applies only to EMEA market).
Ê Check the delivery for any damage during transport.
Ê Check whether the items delivered match the details on the delivery note.
The product name and serial number of the product can be found on the ID card
(see section 5.1.1.3 on page 60).
Ê Notify your supplier immediately should you discover that the items
delivered do not correspond to the delivery note.
