7. Light Guided Diagnostics
The server board has several on-board diagnostic LEDs to assist in troubleshooting board level issues.
This section shows where each LED is located and provides a high level usage description. For a more
detailed description of what drives the diagnostic LED operation, refer to the Intel
®

7.1 5-Volt Standby LED
Several server management features of this server board require that a 5 volt stand-by voltage be
supplied from the power supply. Some of the features and components that require this voltage be
present when the system is “Off” include the BMC within the ESB-2, onboard NICs, and optional Intel
®
RMM.
The LED located just below the system recovery jumper block labeled “5V STBY” is illuminated when AC
power is applied to the platform and 5 Volt standby voltage is supplied to the server board by the power
supply.
