8.2.2 Power Supply Output Requirements
This section is for reference purposes only. Its intent is to provide guidance to system designers for
determining a proper power supply for use with this server board. The contents of this section specify the
power supply requirements Intel used to develop a power supply for its 1U server platform.
The combined power of all outputs shall not exceed the rated output power of the power supply. The
power supply must meet both static and dynamic voltage regulation requirements for the minimum
loading conditions.

1. Maximum continuous total DC output power should not exceed 600W.
2. Peak load on the combined 12 V output shall not exceed 49A.
3. Maximum continuous load on the combined 12 V output shall not exceed 44A.
4. Peak total DC output power should not exceed 650W.
5. Peak power and current loading shall be supported for a minimum of 12 seconds.
6. Combined 3.3V and 5V power shall not exceed 100W.
8.2.3 Turn On No Load Operation
At power on the system shall present a no load condition to the power supply. In this no load state the
voltage regulation limits for the 3.3V and 5V are relaxed to +/-10% and the +12V rails relaxed to +10/-8%.
When operating loads are applied the voltages must regulated to there normal limits.
