Set port negotiation command
Use the set port negotiation command to enable or disable the link negotiation
protocol on the specified port. This command applies to Fast Ethernet or Gigabit
Ethernet ports. When negotiation is enabled, the speed and duplex of the Fast
Ethernet ports are determined by auto-negotiation. If negotiation is disabled, the
user can set the speed and duplex of the Fast Ethernet ports.
The syntax for this command is:
set port negotiation
[mod_num/port_num][enable | disable]
Example:
To disable link negotiation protocol on port 1, module 4:
Console> (enable)
set port negotiation
4/1 disable
Link negotiation protocol disabled on port 4/1.
Console> (enable)
Set port enable command
Use the set port enable command to enable a port or a range of ports.
The syntax for this command is:
set port enable
[mod_num/port_num]
Example
To enable port 3 on module 2:
Console> (enable)
set port enable
2/3
Port 2/3 enabled.
Console> (enable)
mod_num Number of the module.
port_num Number of the port on the module.
enable Enable the link negotiation protocol.
disable Disable the link negotiation protocol
mod _num Number of the module
port_num Number of the port.
