Telecommunications Requirements
The following information applies only to Passport 4400 units that are connected
to a telephone network.
Repair Instructions
If you experience trouble with this equipment, follow this procedure:
1. Determine whether the problem is your data terminal equipment. If you
have another data terminal equipment, connect it in place of the
inoperative unit to see if the data terminal equipment or the line is at fault.
2. If you find the problem is in your Nortel equipment, contact your customer
service representative.
The telephone company may ask you to disconnect this equipment from the
network until the problem has been corrected or you are sure that the equipment
is not malfunctioning.

Whether the notification is about a connection or disconnection
